It Was More Than Clay-It Was Connection

Updated: 2 days ago

How One Guest's Testimonial Captures the Heart of Claycation.

If I could bottle the feeling that fills the studio during a Claycation weekend, I would.

It’s that slow exhale kind of feeling. The kind that arrives after you’ve been holding your breath for too long without realizing it. The kind that sneaks up on you between cups of tea, between giggles over slightly wonky mugs, and in the quiet moments when someone looks at a piece they made and says: “I didn’t know I could do this.”

Guests gathered around a pottery table at Freba Pottery’s Claycation retreat, smiling and working with clay, surrounded by natural light and prairie-inspired decor.”

That feeling? That’s exactly what our latest guest put into words after her retreat:

“I had no idea how much I needed this weekend until I was already in it. Claycation gave me space to reconnect—with my creativity, with my own breath, and with people I didn’t know I was craving connection with. It wasn’t just a retreat. It was healing. I came home with pottery, yes—but I also came home with a lighter heart and new friends. I’ll never forget it.”

Honestly? I still get a little emotional every time I read that.

Because that’s what Claycation is about. Yes, it’s about learning pottery, getting your hands dirty, and creating something from the earth with your own two hands. But it’s also about stepping away from the noise. It’s about waking up to prairie skies, gathering around handmade meals, and rediscovering the part of you that just wants to play again.

The studio becomes more than a place to make things. It becomes a space to feel seen. To be inspired. To laugh until your cheeks hurt and to hold silence like an old friend.

We’ve had women come from all over—some with groups, some solo, all with their own reasons for needing a pause. And what happens over the course of a few days is nothing short of magical.

And now, as I write this, we only have 2 weekends left for 2025.

Just two more chances to say yes to this experience. To the connection, the creativity, the prairie air, the red wine cups, the meals that nourish more than your belly, and the shelves you’ll fill with pieces you made yourself.

If something about this post is tugging at your heart… follow that nudge. I promise, this isn’t just a weekend getaway—it’s a return to yourself.

You can secure your spot with a $500 deposit, and from there, the story begins.

With muddy hands and a full heart,
