A Forced Rest; Not what I wanted but what I am leaning into

A split second, a split decision by someone else, wrong place at the wrong time...all of this happened on September 11, 2025 at 6:40pm. Everything was going so well that week in the School House Studio. I was exciting about the first Elemental Claycation for the fall season to happen the next day. I was going to get some fresh rolls from the local Vietnamese Restaurant and go meet with other Women-Owned Businesses in the area. A side impact collision on the drivers side door while I was driving on the highway through Wynyard. A truck did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection and was accelerating across the highway and didn't see me. I saw the truck 2 seconds before impact. I was able to walk away from the accident with no broken bones or internal organ injuries. The other driver no injuries. I am extremely lucky that I am able to rest and pivot.

I may not have broken bones, but to be able to be back in the studio creating the same level I was prior to the accident is taking some time. Bruised bones, tight muscles, stamina has been incredible low. I am being looked after very well from SGI for my vehicle being broken, SGI Injury for me not being able to produce pottery or host the two September Claycations. I am grateful that those people that were booked for September have understood and we have been able to reschedule their claycation. I am thankful for my family helping me out while I am RESTING!
The School House Studio is nearly ready to be created in. Plumbing, Electrical and the ceiling left to do, but this week while I have many treatments to get me back to creating. I have an Elemental Claycation on October 17, 2025, which will be the first claycation to take place in the School House Studio. In Summer 2024, I had this dream to have a stand alone studio so that I could teach the Elemental Claycation in a designated space away from my personal studio. The reason is that in Summer 2024 the highway store became very popular and when hosting a clayation in my studio, I have to shut down my own production. What would it be like if I had a stand alone studio for the claycations and a studio for my production.
WHY a School House....I wanted to move a one room school house to my yard from down the highway and restore it to be the studio. It was not feasible to move the school house because of the condition it was in and building new was the smartest choice. I am very excited that working with Warman Homes I now have a 2025 built School House that mimics the early 1900s one room school house.
I am hoping that the week of October 13th I can get back to throwing pottery on the wheel so that I can get some stock in the highway store for all the times you stop in. I will do the resting, the planning, the pausing so that when I am feeling ready to create it will be go time!
And if you want to follow along with every beam, every update, and every exciting milestone as we finish the final touches on the School House Studio,
