Every once in a while, I come across a moment that feels like a pause—a breath between all the doing—to reflect on just how far this wild and wonderful ride has taken me. Today is one of those moments.
I’m incredibly honoured to share this feature from Discover Humboldt that highlights my journey as the WESK Rural Ambassador. This role has been more than just a title—it's been an opportunity to champion small-town dreams, rural resilience, and the beauty of creating something that matters, right here in Saskatchewan.

Reading this article reminded me of the many conversations I’ve been lucky to have over the past year. From heartfelt interviews to spontaneous podcast chats and media features, each one has added another layer to this story I’m so proud to be writing. What started as a humble pottery business has evolved into something so much bigger—something deeply rooted in connection, creativity, and community.
Whether it’s sharing the story of Freba Pottery, welcoming guests to the Highway Store, or hosting our immersive Claycation weekends, I’ve realized that storytelling has become a big part of the work I do. And honestly? I love it.
If you're new here, I invite you to check out the interviews and features section on my website where I’ve gathered some of the incredible conversations that have shaped my journey. From radio shows to online articles, they all reflect the heart of this business: people, place, and purpose.
To everyone who has followed along, supported my work, shared their own stories with me, or stopped in for a mug and a chat—thank you.
This business wouldn’t be what it is without you.
And if you haven’t read the latest article yet, here it is: Marea Olafson: WESK Rural Ambassador Continues to Foster Community and Creativity in Saskatchewan
Here’s to the next chapter—clay-covered hands, open doors, and stories that keep unfolding.
With gratitude,Marea
